Terms and conditions

We provide professional sharpening and edge restoration services for knives, tools, blades, and similar items (collectively “Items”).

• We reserve the right to refuse service on any Item that is damaged, unsafe, made of unsuitable material, or otherwise unfit for sharpening (e.g., heavily rusted, cracked, or serrated edges unless explicitly agreed in writing).
• All work is performed to industry-standard sharpness appropriate for the Item’s intended use. We do not guarantee performance in specific applications (e.g., food safety, industrial use).

• Prices are listed on our current price sheet or quoted at the time of drop-off. Prices are subject to change without notice.
• Payment is due upon completion of service or within 30 days of the invoice date, whichever is sooner.
• We accept cash, credit/debit cards, and [any other methods you accept]. A 3% convenience fee may apply to credit-card payments.
• Late payments accrue interest at 1.5% per month (18% APR) or the maximum rate allowed by New Jersey law.
• Returned checks incur a $35 fee plus any bank charges.

• Turnaround times are estimates only and are not guaranteed. Delays may occur due to volume, material condition, or unforeseen circumstances.
• We will notify you if your order will exceed the estimated time.

• You warrant that all Items are free of hazardous materials, bio-contaminants, or illegal modifications.
• You are responsible for cleaning Items before drop-off if requested; we may charge additional fees for excessive cleaning or rust removal.
• You must retrieve your Items within 60 days of notification that work is complete. After 60 days, we may dispose of, sell, or donate unclaimed Items to recover our costs, with no further liability to you.

• We warrant our sharpening workmanship against defects for 30 days from the date of pickup/delivery. If the edge fails due to our workmanship (not normal use or abuse), we will re-sharpen the Item at no charge.
• This warranty does not cover: normal wear, edge dulling from use, misuse, improper storage, or damage caused by you or third parties.
• No other warranties, express or implied, including merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are provided.

• Our total liability for any claim, loss, or damage (including loss or damage to your Items) is strictly limited to the lesser of (a) the amount you paid for the specific service or (b) the fair market replacement value of the Item.
• We are not liable for: – Consequential, incidental, or indirect damages (lost profits, personal injury claims, etc.). – Pre-existing damage, rust, or manufacturing defects. – Damage caused by normal use after sharpening.
• You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims arising from your use of the sharpened Items.

• Items are at your risk while in our possession except for damage caused by our gross negligence. We recommend you insure high-value Items.

We are not responsible for delays or failure to perform caused by events beyond our reasonable control (fire, flood, strike, pandemic, government order, etc.).

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey. Any dispute shall be resolved exclusively in the courts located in Atlantic County, New Jersey. You agree to waive any right to a jury trial. If any provision is held invalid, the remainder remains in full force.

We may update these Terms at any time. The version in effect on the date of your invoice governs that transaction. Current Terms are always available upon request or on our website [if you have one].

By paying this invoice or accepting your sharpened Items, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
